  1. The comment which stated you cannot change your blood type got a chuckle out of me. Why? When I was treated for CMML (chronic myelomonocytic leukemia – « smoldering » leukemia, one type of MDS), my pre-conditioning for stem cell transplant from sister donor was to lessen the effect of her type O upon my type A blood. I was given 9 units of type O blood to do just that, and of course after her « graft » repopulated my host marrow, I did change from type A to type O. Wonder what risks apply to a chimera (isn’t that a blended system?)
